Our Staff Holiday Party took place at The Center on November 19, 2005. It was the first Holiday Party without our beloved founder, Dr. Hugh D. Riordan. Before he passed away, he had expressed his wish that the party take place at The Center. It was just a year ago that Center Staff awaited Dr. Riordan's arrival while they gathered together for the traditional staff picture. He was a little late, but it seemed like perfect timing, because as he arrived with his wife and daughter, a cheer went up, the staff applauded, and his broad smile could be seen as he entered the room.
This year's party took place in The Center Pyramid, resplendent with holiday decorations and the beautiful lighting that emanated from 10,000 lights. The festive evening began with opening remarks and humor from Dr. Ron Hunninghake, followed by a delicious buffet dinner. We were joined by several honored guests, including Jan Riordan, and board members Al Page and Dave O'Malley. A highlight of the evening was the performance by the Friends University Madrigal Singers who presented a program of international and old English Christmas Carols.
It is an annual tradition at our holiday party for staff to be recognized and to receive awards for their years of service to The Center. This year, special recognition was given to the following staff:

It has been a year of change, filled with challenges, and through the leadership of our Board of Directors, the diligence of our management staff under Laura Benson, and the dedication of our professional and support staff, we have met those challenges.
One of Dr. Riordan’s most deeply held values was the importance of expressing gratitude, and as we share the joy of this season, we express our gratitude to you, Dr. Riordan, for making The Center what it is today.
